The gas supply company Naftogaz Ukrainy told how it is more profitable for Ukrainians to consume gas – with or without a meter.
This was reported by the press service of the company on Facebook.
It is noted that one cubic meter of gas is able to ensure the uninterrupted operation of four burners of the stove at the same time for up to one hour, if you count at a price of UAH 7.96 within the Fixed tariff plan from Naftogaz Ukraine.
“Basically, Ukrainians pay for the consumed gas in accordance with the meter readings. However, some consumers have not installed metering devices and pay for services in accordance with the number of registered persons and depending on the devices they use,” the report says.
The company explained that the average consumption of one household in the warm season per month is: for cooking – 10.7 cubic meters. m, or UAH 85.17; for heating water and cooking – 22.2 cubic meters. m, or UAH 176.7; another instrument cluster – 14.2 cu. m, or 113 UAH.
Gas consumption during the heating season for cooking – 15.4 cubic meters. m, or UAH 122.50; for heating water, heating and cooking – 223 cubic meters. m, or 1775 UAH; another instrument cluster – 133.5 cubic meters. m, or 1061 UAH.
“Some customers are convinced that it is cheaper to pay at the average rate. However, let’s debunk this myth: in fact, it is profitable to install a meter, because it allows you to pay only for the volumes of natural gas actually consumed, regulate the flow of heat and save accordingly,” the press service said. .
The company added that Ukrainians in 2022 reduced costs by three cubic meters compared to last year.
The situation with gas meters:
Currently, gas distribution companies have not installed meters in many households for various reasons. According to preliminary estimates, there are more than 2 million such households in Ukraine.
In March 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law extending the installation period for natural gas consumption meters for 2 years, until January 1, 2023. After this period, households without meters may be cut off from gas supply.
Since May 1, almost 10 million gas users in Ukraine have been transferred to the service of Naftogaz Ukrainy due to the fact that local gas companies were unable to perform their functions. Thus, the Gas Supply Company Naftogaz of Ukraine now serves more than 12 million household gas consumers.
