Reserve military police officer and licensed federal deputy Wagner Sousa Gomes, known as Captain Wagner (Union Brazil), leads the polls of intention to vote for the government of Cearáaccording to a survey carried out by the Paraná Research between May 1st and 6th and released this Monday, 9th.
He is isolated at the edge in the two scenarios surveyed – in both of them he surpasses the candidate of the current government, a coalition between the PT and Ciro Gomes’ group that has governed the state for four terms – two with Cid Gomes and two with Camilo Santana (PT) .
In the first situation, he appears with 46.5% of the voting intentions, followed by the current governor, Izolda Cela (PDT)which has 24.2% — she took over the government after Camilo resigned in April to run for the Senate.
In this same simulation, the PSOL candidate, Adelita Monteiro, appears with 3.2% of voting intentions. Another 18.6% of respondents said they will vote for none, blank or null and 7.5% said they do not know or did not respond.
When the governing candidate is the former mayor of Fortaleza Roberto Claudio (PDT), Captain Wagner leads with 43.4$ of voting intentions, followed by Cláudio, with 29.8%, and Adelita, with 2.9%. In this scenario, 16.9% stated that they will vote blank, void or vote or vote for none and another 6.9% say they do not know or did not respond.
Although he has no direct connection with Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Captain Wagner has already received support from the president and has the same electorate that supports the president in Ceará.
The survey was carried out through personal interviews with 1,540 voters from 60 municipalities in Ceará and was registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) under number CE-06551/2022. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
