NFT by Marielle Franco Doare/Disclosure
Organized by Doare, Impact Women NFT — auction unprecedented benefit of NFTs in the country, has just had her first work sold — the piece is a tribute to the activist and human rights defender Marielle Francomurdered in 2018.
Authored by artist Manu Cunhas — winner of the Jabuti Illustration Award — the work was alongside 49 other art items. As they are NFTs (non-fungible tokens), each work is unique and exclusive.
The event, which took place in metaverso designed specifically for the action, it will also auction artistic illustrations by other women who have left their mark on history.
Sales will benefit NGOs led by women and social projects aimed at women, including the Marielle Franco Institute — an organization created by the former councilor’s family, whose objective is to fight for justice and defend Marielle’s memory.
Created in 2012, Doare is a donation fintech that offers fundraising solutions for philanthropic organizations. The company has already raised more than 100 million reais in donations and today it has 4,500 organizations registered on its platform.
