The section of a road work inaugurated 20 days ago by Jair Bolsonaro in Rio Grande do Sul collapsed this Thursday.
On the 8th, Bolsonaro was in Pelotas to inaugurate the duplication of a bypass of the BR-116, in an intervention that cost the Ministry of Infrastructure BRL 690 million.
This Thursday, after heavy rains that hit the region at dawn, a containment barrier on a viaduct collapsed in a stretch close to kilometer 526 of the highway.
The collapse was confirmed by DNIT and also by the highway concessionaire, Ecosul. Traffic, according to the private company, had to be diverted to side roads. Technicians from the Federal Highway Department were dispatched to the site to assist with containment services.
