Former Governor of São Paulo Márcio França (PSB) declared last Tuesday that the chances between an agreement between him and the former mayor have not yet been ruled out. Fernando Haddad (EN) — both are pre-candidates for the Bandeirantes Palace dispute.
“Is there a chance we can make a deal? It always exists. Because I have as a rule that we cannot put São Paulo, as important as we are, above the country. My concern is that the decision in São Paulo could disrupt that of the country. If it gets in the way, maybe it’s better to keep two candidacies”, he said during the Sindhosp event.
Currently, Haddad and França lead the researches of voting intentions, with PT in first place. What the former governor has defended, however, is that in an eventual second round, his name is the only one capable of puncturing the Bolsonarista bubble, since he has less rejection than the former mayor of São Paulo.
França also declared that he will not spare Haddad if both maintain their candidacies and defended having more experience at the head of the state executive – he was vice president of Geraldo Alckmin and took over the government for nine months in 2018.
“If in the first debate, Márcio França asks Haddad, it won’t be easy, anyone who knows me knows. The profile of the three [outros candidatos] is more or less similar, they are people who, between hot and sweet, are sweeter. It’s not mine,” she said.
